Growing in faith and love through worship, discipleship, and service.

Aldersgate Class

Lasagna Dinner

The Aldersgate Class is a group of men and women, married and single, who are retired or close to retirement, meeting in Room 203 (next to the parlor).  Our class programs are a mixture of Bible studies and social concern issues, led by members of the class, other church members, pastoral staff, and outside guest speakers.   We do special projects during Christmas and sometimes during other times of the year.  We are forty-eight class members who enjoy each other and have social events four or five times each year.  We welcome guests and new members.

What is Aldersgate?

Aldersgate is a street.  The following is taken from an e-mail from Rev. Ken Carter a former FUMC pastor. "In the evening I (John Wesley) went very unwillingly to a society in Aldersgate Street, where one was reading Luther's preface to the Epistle to the Romans. About a quarter before nine, while he was describing the change which God works in the heart through faith in Christ, I felt my heart strangely warmed. I felt I did trust in Christ, Christ alone for salvation; and an assurance was given me that he had taken away my sins, even mine, and saved me from the law of sin and death."
