Children - Children's Sabbath

Children's Sabbath October 14th, 2012

On October 14th, 2011 the children of First UMC will lead worship in all three services. This important Sunday helps to raise the awareness of children as important members of our worshiping community. Jesus teaches us to have special consideration for children - and all members of a worshiping body can learn faith from children. Please plan on joining us as we celebrate Children's Sabbath! See the opportunities below as to how you and your children might be involved too!
Help to lead worship! We need readers, ushers, greeters, and musicians! If you would like to help make this Children's Sabbath a success, please plan on meeting with Kate Meacham on Sunday October 7th at 12noon for a Pizza and Planning Party. We will have speaking roles to hand out and we will walk through the various roles that you could play!	Draw a picture for the bulletin cover! We will need a picture for our bulletins this year. Please submit pictures drawn on white paper to Kate Meacham for consideration. We will make a decision by October 9th. See the pictures on this webpage for examples of previous pieces used.	Third Grade Bibles We will distribute Bibles to our 3rd Graders at each worship service. Please plan ahead and submit the names of your third graders to Kate Meacham in writing before October 9th. We will dedicate each Bible to a particular child by a talented church calligraphist.
Reminder: Children's choirs are singing on October 14th. Please be aware and help use this information to decide which service you could help out with!
