Growing in faith and love through worship, discipleship, and service.

On May 19th, eleven of us made the short trip to Henderson Settlement in Kentucky for a three day mission project. Team members included Dauna Sample, Carol Heck, Kimberley Houston, Linda Goodwin, Cara Weigel, Rose Anne and Steve Bell, Maxine and Bob Schultz, and Donna and Jim Henry. We completed several projects on campus, including landscaping, painting, and building a foot bridge. We shared in morning devotions with groups from Ohio and Illinois at Vespers Point, and attended a church service on Friday evening. Bob tried to teach us balloon art with some success. We even had an unexpected visit from Mahon Archer who was there for a board meeting.
Some of us had a longer journey home than planned when the van we were in, became separated from Bob and Maxine’s (they had the GPS). We thought we were hopelessly lost, when on the horizon appeared a DAIRY QUEEN sign in Pineville, Kentucky, and then, suddenly, all was right with the world. Henderson Settlement is situated in the heart of Appalachia, nestled into the hillside where we were surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation-a place to enjoy fellowship with each other and God as we went about doing His work.
