Senior Adult Luncheon First United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge, TN

SENIOR ADULT  LUNCHEON

The Senior Adult Luncheon meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from September through May. The Senior Adult Luncheons represent the ecumenical diversity of the community and include speakers/programs from the greater Oak Ridge area. The purpose of the Senior Adult Luncheon is to promote spiritual formation and commitment, fellowship, connections with new friends, and provide joyful, informative, and entertaining programs. We believe we have initiated a way for seniors to appreciate the gift of aging. Very successful luncheons and programs have been attended by as many as 90 guests, the majority of whom have attended each luncheon. For more information or to sign up for the next Senior Adult Luncheon.

Small Groups First United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge, TN

OTHER SMALL GROUPS

Small groups are people who have covenanted to meet together regularly. Together they learn about God, themselves, and each other, and support one another along the way. “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them” (Matthew 18:20).

As each of us is different so each group is different. Some focus primarily on Bible Study, some on spiritual formation, and others on fellowship and accountability. The power comes in meeting together regularly, learning and laughing, sharing, supporting, and caring for one another.

FUMC has had many small groups that have met for years. Some of their members say this is an experience which has enabled their faith to grow tremendously. We are always open to starting new groups for those who are seeking. Our groups are open to both members of our church as well as those who are not. If curious, please contact Pastor Denna Hornby below.
