Through First Kids, strive to create a loving environment for every family that walks through our church doors. Your child will be welcomed into a space where they will learn about God’s love through age-appropriate storytelling and scripture reading, worship, crafts, and more!

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

There are two different classes for children of elementary school age during the Sunday School hour.


“God’s Fireworks” is for K-3rd grade and meets in room 206
“Fiery Disciples” for 4th-6th grade meets in room 204

YOUR KIDS ARE SAFE

First United Methodist Church is a Safe Sanctuaries Congregation. All staff and volunteers working with children are background checked and trained to follow our Child Protection Policy (including such measures as check-in/check-out, multiple unrelated adults in a classroom, social media safety, and more). We are happy to provide you with a copy of our Child Protection Policy upon request.

WHAT WE TEACH

YOUR KIDS WILL LOVE IT

First Kids surrounds every child with love and care. We emphasize the grace and love of God in Christ Jesus that is for all of God's children. We not only want to create a fun and loving environment for kids, but for their families as well. We plan many events throughout the year for our families to come together and fellowship with one another. We want to provide a community for families so that they know they are loved and have people that will support them as they are raising the next generation.

FIRST KIDS WORSHIP

First Kids Worship is a way to spend time with the children and begin to learn the basics of a church service and to better understand the traditions of the United Methodist Church. Children K – 3rd grade are invited to attend First Kids Worship during the 11:00 a.m. Contemporary and Traditional Services in room 206. First Kids Worship will not be offered on the first Sunday of each month, as this is Communion Sunday, and we would like the children to stay in service with their families to experience this tradition.

CHILDCARE

First Church realizes that safe, reliable childcare is the key to families being able to participate in church ministries. That’s why we provide childcare for meetings, services, and other church events in a safe, nurturing, Christian environment for young children.

 

We are a Safe Sanctuaries congregation and are happy to provide you with a copy of our Child Protection Policy upon request.

FIRST KID'S SUNDAY

REGULARLY SCHEDULED CHILDCARE

Worship Care (8:30-noon)

 

  • Children ages 6 week – 2 years (“Little Embers”) and children 3 – 5 years (“Little Sparks”) will meet in room 123.
  • We offer Bible lessons, crafts, free play, and more during each hour of our care.
